Besides the obvious benefits of serving our community by protection, the new K9 unit will also benefit our children through several programs:

Kingston's Annual National Night Out - Each august, Detective Sergeant Robert Wells invites local children to a cookout. Children are fingerprinted and photographed by the Plymouth County Sheriff's Department and they are treated to several demonstrations. Included is a K9 demonstration where, we hope the new unit will be in place to demonstrate capabilities to children.

Dogs Against Drugs, Dogs Against Crime - Via association with the national organization, the Kingston K9 unit will conduct anti-drug educational presentations for children through their Puppy Patrol anti-drug education program.
